about

A Great Place to Surf

This is a good old-fashioned protest song about Republican America, religious fundamentalism, military intervention in the Middle East, the potential demise of Western civilisation, the downside of mass media, and how all of that stuff would be perceived by someone visiting from elsewhere. Fun Fact: this is Fergus' favourite Febria song.
The song title is a reference to how unusually large the Earth's Moon is, compared to the satellites of other planets, and – following Asimov's lead – how that might even be rare throughout the whole galaxy. If so, given the Moon's influence on the tides, one of the things a visitor might report about the Earth as being especially noteworthy is that it's a place where one can surf unusually big waves….

about

Febria Wales, UK

Febria ('FEBB-ree-uh') consists of four/five very good friends. We then reconvened and released The Sea Around Us EP, and have now recorded a new album called 'Longing', which was released on 11th November. We hope you enjoy it! ... more
