about

This is the first full instrumental that we’ve written. The title refers to the work of the physicist Ludwig Boltzmann regarding the universe’s low entropy; following his ideas to their logical conclusion leads to the concept that the whole universe has only just popped into existence – randomly – at this very moment. Which is fun. Boltzmann’s work has been incorporated, after a fashion, into today’s prevailing model of inflationary cosmology (hence ‘redux’; see B. Greene ‘The Fabric of the Cosmos’).
